The head of security said there was a heavy smell of weed in the hotels hallway and they have the right to go into the room with out knocking or stating that they were entering. The next morning went down to front desk to complain and warn other guests of what happened. We then realized there is not an extra lock on the door, like a chain lock or bar lock. My husband jumped out of bed startled and said what’s going on?! What are you doing in here? The Men got scared said sorry and left the room. At 10:30pm my husband and I were awoken by two men acting like security guards standing in our room!!! There was no knock on the door they didn’t say anything when entering. After check in we go have over priced dinner which was average. The room is average and repainted poorly. There is no service so we never got a call. At 6pm we went to the front desk to see if our room was ready. We had over priced drinks at the bar located close to the check in office thinking we would only have to wait until 4pm. When we arrived at 3:30pm for a 4pm check in, we were told our room wasn’t ready. The resort itself is nice for pictures and ceremony but don’t have the reception there.BEWARE!!! Went for a short stay Saturday to Sunday. Ohhhhhh and the wedding planner that the resort hired for them. after about 2 hours in almost 90 degree room the bride and groom decided to pack everything up and finish their day at their home. luckily the DJ had some in his van and brought them in.
the staff were to bring in fans but they were never brought. salads wilted before anyone got their forks to the plate. the staff did their best by avoiding the situation. the room the HARMONY room also had NO AC!!!! the temperature on the thermostat read 84 degrees. believe me as the matron of honor you stalk the weather for weeks wanting the best of the best for the bride and groom, family and guests. also NO AC on the record breaking temperature which was known for 2 weeks prior. oh with no bathroom, and staff walking by lurking in the room while we got dressed and undressed. Despite the 85 degree room we were provided to get ready in. let me say she made the most beautiful bride. So last Saturday was my dearest friends wedding. She was also very nice and so down to earth. I can't not Thank her enough and be more happier with their service she provided for us. We had met with different people and management in between all of our different wedding specials and I was not impressed with any of them, but Gladys did an amazing job over all, and also in a short period of time. I recommend this venue just because of her. I'm still glad we went with Split Rock though because I can not say enough about our wedding specialist Gladys, she was so accommodating in every way! She was available for us at all times and she was the only one out of all of them that took her time with us and explained everything. At this time we were a little worried about things, because we had been through so many by this point. The last wedding specialist that we had, had come just about three or four months before our wedding. When we started our Journey with split Rock we had one wedding specialist, then she left and we had another then she left and we had gotten another. We had the ceremony there down at the lake side which was beautiful, everyone commented on it. This was a great place to have our wedding.
